A simple reply from an extremely concerned citizen

Well I started my day as most of us do, at least to a degree. It’s Saturday morning I finished breakfast pancakes and sausage, effective and extremely tasty. I’ve always worked extremely hard for everything I’ve done and that’s why I felt was important enough for me to write about. The question that was posted by what would appear to be some executive membership from the current Presidents administration.

N ow I don’t expect to be getting any air-time or press, it’s not my intention. The goal of my comment is to clearly send a single message from one very concerned citizen.  I like most Americans are extremely frustrated with the current administrations political agendas which are being “force-fed” and pushed upon us,
Her most United States citizens unaware that the current burn rate of capital is creating for all of usa degree of indentured servitude, are we truly so unaware of the larger magnitude and impacts the decisions are being made for us that we don’t care, I suggest people do care.  Did you know with the depth of the debt that is being placed upon  U.S. that our children’s great-grandchildren will be paying for this debt, long after we are all gone.

Now let’s be clear. I’m excited about the potential’s of the United States of America, however, I am extremely displeased with the lack of real vision that the current administration is working through, why is it that the executive, legislative branches of the government would rather “kick-the-can” down the road instead of really addressing how to solve the real problem with the economy.

As a small size business owner faces many challenges, generally all mandated by other federal obscure entities.

My request is “don’t tread on me”.

I find myself as a small but business owner, extremely concerned with not specifically healthcare, but the Goliath known as the United States Federal Government which will now be dipping even deeper into my pocket to take, earned profits.

I would rather you just simply thank me and walk away for doing my part in assisting to stabilize an existing lease shaky economy, but instead I see this question asking how the federal government can help me. I suggest my previous request above, the carried out in full without hesitation or pause.

Instead I would rather the federal government focus on national defense and the running of their newly acquired assets and manage them to successful completion protecting to jump into yet another industry vertical. Don’t you think it would be nice to get the money already invested in the automobile and financial services industries, before yet again asking the United States taxpayers and small businesses to carry even a heavier burden of debt?

I’m both shocked and saddened by this country’s strategy and direction, I believe it’s misguided unwanted and marching into a socialist society.

The purpose for this post is to ensure that it is on the record, although my comments will be narrowly viewed by a singular social network, although great in size and intellectual matter. Those outside business communities should have an opportunity to think through holistic way, what the current administration has sincerely proposing. Now let’s be clear, fair and just I do not think that any one person would make a comment about a need for healthcare, but we do live in a free society where everyone chooses and has a choice. My only hope and wish is that you will choose to make a choice on the future of your own children’s grandchildren.

The President’s gone Czar crazy and why you should care

Over the past few months all I have seem the current administration do is the following:

Government owned automakers such as General Motors (GM), now newly named by bloggers in the blogosphere “Government Motors (GM)”, oh and did I mention that they chose to fire the CEO, now I’m not saying whether he did or did not do a good job point of fact is that the government should not be able to come in and remove the executive leadership from any organization, period.  we also are blessed to now have a government ran financial services sector, you might recognize some of the new tank names, but due to the high percentage of ownership of these companies. It’s appropriate for rebranding, oh and did I mention I can’t wait until they decide to start firing those group of CEOs and their senior executives for their failed attempts. For those of you that are not certain this is a tongue-in-cheek. But several government firing any one or any organization is not legally justified, and if so can someone please share with me a case to review, I have lots of attorneys, Associates and acquaintances that would love an opportunity.

Goverment Motors GM 2011 - The Libby

Every time I turn on the news these days I seem to hear about some new request, or outright appointment, of a “czar” of something or another in Obama’s new administration.  why is it that the president’s cabinet has to be approved before permanent appointment. However, the president can grant sweeping authorities to as our without any type of accountability and validation against the credentials to ensure that their appropriate person for the role. I mean, we have seen some appointments to the president’s administration but had to bow out due to personal challenges such as IRS problems from Tom Daschle and Timothy Gagner, who paid his bill to get his appointment.  As I opened up an issue of Men’s Fitness I found an editorial asking for another “fitness czar.”  Below is a listing of current czar’s that I’m aware of and I’m certain the list will continue to grow.  I would offer that you should look at the list of czars as a imperial ruler who has no accountability, responcibility other then deciding who wins and who losses.

This example I heard on the Fox News channel today;

an automobile dealership was being forced to close, however, after the auto czar reviewed they matter, and without any validation, other than their political leanings granted them, shall I say amnesty, which allowed them to keep their dealership doors open for business. And I bet you thought it was a lottery drawing by meticulous list of well thought out process and plans, so I guess we learned something today.

What is the true “responsibility” of a czar? To pontificate? And what is the accountability and authority? Without authority and accountability, responsibility is a myth and true performance is probably a pipe dream. Czars without authority and accountability set targets and goals, which simply leads to gaming the system by those also without accountability to the authority-less czar.

Ah yes… this will be fun. Czars and czarinas, already redundant with the responsibility of existing government organizations, spewing targets and goals galore with no one truly accountable to them, all trying to figure out how to make themselves look good. Gotta love it. Let the dysfunction begin.

I’m not certain how you feel about this, I’m concerned, the founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves.  From my vantage point, it looks as though we are moving towards a dictatorship and our next step is an oligarchy style government.  Now I don’t know about you, but this is very concerning.

is larger government and dept our Great, Great grand children will never be able to pay back and that was NOT a hand he was dealt. We as U.S. Citizens need to focus on NEEDS not WANTS and get back to basics, no longer can the U.S. afford to continue spending on WANTS. IMHO

Your new Supreme Court Justice!?

Barack Obama’s nomination of Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court is a disaster for average Americans.  For one thing, if she’s confirmed, there’s every indication she’ll be a big promoter of the radical gay agenda on the court.  She’s replacing David Souter, a lifelong bachelor and recluse who lived with his mother when he was appointed.  President Bush Sr. assured us that the unknown Souter was a real conservative, but he turned into one of the biggest champions of gay rights on the court.  Likewise, Sotomayor was briefly married thirty years ago, had no children, and has never remarried.  She’s certainly not going to be a friend of the traditional family, to put it mildly.

She is also a radical left wing Hispanic with deep seated biases in favor of her own race, and against other ethnic groups.  Her ethnicity and her radical liberalism are the only reasons she’s being considered for the high court.  Qualified?  Hardly – five of her rulings have been appealed to the Supreme Court, and they have overturned three of them, an appalling sixty percent rejection rate.  This is all about pandering to Hispanics, and getting a radical liberal race hustler on the court.  Sotomayor unashamedly belongs to a number of race based organizations, including the Puerto Rican Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Association of Judges of Hispanic Heritage, and the National Council of La Raza.

If you’re not familiar with La Raza, it’s a left wing Hispanic “advocacy” group whose name means “The Race” in Spanish.  It’s quite clear what they stand for, and Sotomayor has no problem being a member of such a group.  (Just try to imagine the reaction if a white male judge belonged to a white advocacy group called The Race.)  La Raza supports amnesty for illegal aliens, increased immigration, more affirmative action and quotas for Hispanics, more welfare spending, and countless other big government programs to benefit Hispanics, whether here legally or not.  They also have mounted a campaign to outlaw what they call “hate speech” about illegal immigration.  They want it to be against the law to use words like “illegal alien”, “invasion”, “hordes”, etc, to describe the hordes of illegal aliens that are invading America.  In their view, pointing out that most illegals are poorly educated, low skilled, and often illiterate is also “hate speech” that should be criminalized.  If they have their way, anyone who talks honestly about illegal immigration will risk going to prison.  This is the group that Obama’s Supreme Court nominee is proud to be a member of.

Sotomayor is proud of her racism.  In a speech given at a law school in 2001, she said that a female Hispanic judge like herself is probably superior to a white male judge:  “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion [as a judge] than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”   (Again, imagine the reaction if a white male judge had made the reverse argument.)  She also said: “Personal experiences affect the facts that judges choose to see.

My hope is that I will take the good from my experiences and extrapolate them further into areas with which I am unfamiliar. I simply do not know exactly what that difference will be in my judging. But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage.”  You’d better believe there are going to be “differences” in Sotomayor’s rulings based on her gender and ethnicity.  Nominating this brazen racist for the Supreme Court is nothing less than an assault on the rights of white working Americans.

If you need proof, just ask Frank Ricci.  Who is Frank Ricci?  He’s a white firefighter in New Haven, Connecticut who wanted to be promoted to lieutenant.  To qualify, he had to pass a test.  So Frank Ricci quit his second job, spent a thousand dollars on study materials, and because he’s dyslexic, paid a friend of his to spend hours reading the study materials onto audio tape.  He then spent six months studying, about eight hours a day, in preparation for the test.  All his hard work seemed to pay off, because he came in
sixth out of dozens of applicants for eight promotions.  I say it seemed to pay off, because despite his extraordinary efforts and his high score, Frank Ricci didn’t get that promotion to lieutenant.

Why didn’t Ricci get his well deserved promotion?  It’s because he’s guilty of a crime – the crime of being a white man.  Due to the fact that no black firefighters passed the test, the city of New Haven threw out everyone’s scores, saying the test was “racially biased”, even though they’ve spent millions of dollars to heavily stack the deck in favor of the black applicants.  With the stroke of a pen, they destroyed Frank Ricci’s dreams, and trashed his months of hard work, all in the name of affirmative action, quotas, and diversity.

So Frank Ricci and a dozen other white firefighters sued the city for violating their civil rights.  The first court, incredibly, ruled against them.  So they appealed, and the appeals court ruled against them, too.  Guess who was one of the judges on the appeals court that upheld this blatant anti-white discrimination? Sonia Sotomayor!  Not only did she uphold it, she wrote a terse, one paragraph ruling dismissing their claims.  This is unheard of.  Judges normally write lengthy rulings, sometimes hundreds of pages long, explaining their decision.  In an equally unheard of development, one of her fellow appellate judges spoke out against this travesty, saying that Sotomayor’s one paragraph ruling “contains no reference whatsoever to the constitutional claims at the core of this case” and its “perfunctory disposition rests uneasily with the weighty issues presented by this appeal.”   The U.S. Constitution, legitimate claims, weighty issues – those don’t matter – not to Sotomayor to whom Frank Ricci is a white male oppressor, which means the government is free to trample his rights in order to benefit minorities.

With his first opportunity to fill a Supreme Court vacancy, Barack Obama has openly declared war on middle class America.  This Sotomayor nomination is an ominous sign of just what the remainder of Obama’s term holds for people like you and me, and our families.   In his heart, Obama is a radical black activist who has nothing but contempt for people like us.  During the campaign, lots of people exposed him as a racial radical with a chip on his shoulder, and a desire to “settle the score” with mainstream America on
behalf of minorities.  These researchers were ignored and marginalized by the mainstream media that fawned over Obama, who allowed him to cover up his past, and present himself as the “post-racial” candidate.

That “post-racial” business was an outright lie.  He has now made that crystal clear by nominating Sotomayor, to whom race is sometimes all that matters.  Obama said he looks for “empathy” in selecting judges for the federal bench.  Make no mistake though. By “empathy”, he doesn’t mean what you or I mean when we use that word.  We want judges who have empathy for victims of crime, for people who’ve been defrauded, assaulted, or otherwise harmed, and are seeking redress and blind justice from a fair and impartial court system.

That’s what being a judge used to be all about and that’s what most people understand when they hear the word “empathy” with respect to judicial nominees.  That’s because they think they’re still living in the old America, and haven’t yet come to grips with the fact that we’re now living in Obama’s America.  In Obama’s America, empathy in judges doesn’t mean sympathizing with people who have been wronged by someone else, and striving to ensure that they get justice.  It means sympathizing with and taking the side of “the oppressed,” i.e. non-whites, homosexuals, radical feminists, illegal aliens, etc.

The flip side of Obama’s “empathy” is apparent hatred and contempt for white people, traditional families, small business owners, evangelical Christians, conservatives, and everyone else that liberals call the “racist, heterosexist,  nativist, Christianist, capitalist, homophobic power structure” in America.  In other words, what most of us call normal people.  These radical leftists regard folks like you and me and our children as the enemy, and it’s their mission in life to put us in our supposed place, which to them means at the back of the bus.  They’re in charge now, and they fully intend to use their power to remake America in their image.  If the Senate approves Sotomayor for the Supreme Court, Obama will know that he has carte blanche to escalate his all out war on traditional Americans.  We’ve got to contact our Senators and demand that Sotomayor and all other far left nominees for the court be rejected or we’ll vote them out of office.  We cannot allow Barack Obama to get away with this.

If they approve her (and to be honest, with only 40 squishy Republicans in the US Senate, it’s unlikely), it’s time to get serious about finding a way for our beloved Texas to exit a system where Barack Obama and his racist friends interpret the laws that undergird our very life, liberty and material security.  I have faith liberty will prevail, but only with much travail.

Sometime we all forget what freedom is, and well I am just as guilty as most, but no longer. I remember that in order to have a stronger and free nation we must all pick ourselves up by the boot straps. Lets face it we put ourselves in the state we are in by not realizing the different between needs and wants. I clearly know what my families needs are. Man impersonated federal agent on 2007 flight from Logan

The man in his late 40s flashed a badge, said he was a Department of Homeland Security agent, and filled out a flying-while-armed form at the airline ticket counter at Logan International Airport. Then he bypassed security and boarded a plane to San Diego.

On his return trip to Logan several days later, he again told airline personnel he was an agent flying armed and was invited by the pilots into the cockpit, where they told him who the air marshals were on the flight and who else was flying armed.

There was just one problem: The man was an imposter. Stephen Grant, 48, of Rockland was sentenced today to two years of probation on one count of impersonating a federal agent, federal prosecutors said.

Rather than being a pistol-packing law officer, Grant was actually director of sales for a medical supply company based in Rockland and was on a business trip, leaving Boston on Jan. 1, 2007 and returning on Jan. 4, 2007.

The badge he flashed, if someone had looked closely, was the badge he had gotten for being a part-time assistant harbormaster in the town of Chatham, prosecutors said.

The case was investigated by the Transportation Security Administration and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. [Source]

Head to Texas State Parks for Free Fishing

Family Fishing

Parents looking to save a few dollars by vacationing closer to home this summer might consider taking their youngsters to a nearby Texas state park, where they can try their luck at hooking a fish or two without worrying about needing a fishing license to do so. And, if you’re looking for how-to instruction and structured activities for your young angler, or simply want to brush up on your own fishing skills, more than a dozen state parks this summer are hosting special family fishing events.

This year marks the sixth year of the Free Fishing in State Parks program that waives fishing license and stamp requirements within more than 50 Texas state parks. To capitalize on the program, which has been extended through Aug. 31, 2009, 13 state parks are hosting special family fishing events, where participants learn fishing skills, angling rules and regulations, have a chance to catch a fish and perhaps win door prizes.

One of this year’s participating parks is Ray Roberts Lake State Park in north Texas, which has already held a couple of family fishing events and has two “Fish On!” events set for May 16 at the Isle Du Bois unit (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and June 13 (8 a.m.-noon) at the Johnson Branch unit.

 Park ranger Jerry Vaughan, who oversees the park’s fishing events, expects at least 200 people to show up for the popular events that draw residents from throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. He says the program attempts to replicate the kind of fishing advice once commonly dispensed to youngsters by older family members.

“Lots of parents today don’t know how to fish and are hesitant to take their kids fishing,” Vaughan said. “We try to create an atmosphere that is like you’re going fishing with grandpa. The key is getting kids outdoors so they’ll know what’s going on and respect the world around them.” [Source]

Pakistani troops bomb Taliban; Govt says no more dialogue

Islamabad, May 7 (PTI) Unleashing an all-out war on the Taliban, Pakistani fighter jets today pounded militant positions in the restive tribal belt, where a son of a pro-Taliban cleric who negotiated a controversial peace deal in Swat was killed in shelling by troops.
As the government said there will be no more negotiations with the Taliban in Swat and they will be dealt with sternly, security forces targeted militants holed up in Malam Jabba, Matta and Khawaza Khela of the valley.

Thousands of panic-stricken civilians streamed out of the area as fighting intensified. Pakistan government estimates that about 500,000 people could be displaced due to the escalating military operations in the troubled region. About 40,000 people have already fled the valley.

Chairing a meeting of his cabinet yesterday, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani sent out a “clear message” that the militants will be “crushed with full force” and not given any relaxation as peace had not been restored even after the government implemented Shariah or Islamic law in Swat.

“The writ of the government will be established without listening to these elements from now onwards,” he said.

The tough talking by Gilani came as US President Barack Obama, hosting a trilateral summit, secured a fresh pledge from leaders of Pakistan and Afghanistan to “dismantle, disrupt and defeat” the al-Qaeda and Taliban. PTI

Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday Memorial Day Weekend May 23 – 25, 2009

During Memorial Day weekend, Texas shoppers get a break from state and local sales and use taxes on purchases of certain energy efficient products. The 2009 Energy Star sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day).  

The products qualifying for the exemption are:

• air conditioners priced under $6,000 (room and central units)
• clothes washers (but not clothes dryers*)
• ceiling fans
• dehumidifiers
• dishwashers
• light bulbs (incandescent and fluorescent)
• programmable thermostats
• refrigerators priced under $2,000.

*  Because most dryers use similar amounts of energy, Energy Star does not label clothes dryers.

Qualifying products will display the Energy Star logo, which may appear on the appliance, the packaging or the Energy Guide label. Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. Earning the Energy Star means a product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by these two federal agencies.

There is no limit on the number of qualifying items one can purchase during this sales tax holiday, and an exemption certificate is not required.
